Meet Week

Monday
Did: 2.07mi @ 9:36/mi avg, Big 5, bootcamp
53lb KB deadlifts on #8




Loved this part. It was a fun challenge.

Tuesday

Did: 6.27mi @ 9:25/mi. Big 5, 4mi walking on treadmill desk apparatus 
WTH is with this weather? We were in singlets and shorts a couple weeks ago, and today it was a "feels like" of 29, with 10mph winds. 

Took it easy for the first half, and picked it up for the back half... or, at least, that's how it felt. I felt like I was doing closer to 10min/mi for the first 5K and easily sub-9 for the last mile. Guess my perception was skewed: 



but I did manage to stick with Birgit once we crested the last major hill and run hard for the last half mile home 

Kicked up the hill at a 6min/mi and loved feeling the adrenaline kick in. That feeling of your body saying "ugh, no" while your mind says "um, yes, let's do this" and having the strength to push through--- that's why I run. Also, I miss speedwork. :( 


Wednesday
Did: 4.13 @ 9:10/mi avg, Big 5
Work/family schedule made bootcamp "not an option" this morning, so I got a longer run in instead. Felt good and easy.


Thursday
Did: rest day- traveled up to USATF 
Fun day of team bonding and camaraderie. Next post will be a full meet recap.
