Week-beginning Thoughts:
Training plans make me happy. Unfortunately, the one I was planning to use isn't ideal since it starts as such low mileage. For my body right now, I can't really go back to running 20mi a week and then ramp up later. Sooooo, I'll be spending this weekend crafting another Angelina original plan to get me to Peachtree.
Monday
Did: rest
Tuesday
Did: 1mi WU, 4mi PRO, 1mi CD = 6.67mi @ 10:12/mi avg, Big 2
Celebrated the four-year anniversary of #10KTuesday today with almost my whole girl team. :) It was nice to get to run with people who can't come as regularly these days and just spend the morning chatting, catching up, and celebrating our teammate's last Tuesday in town before running her very first Boston next week.
PRO splits: 10:50, 10:23, 9:41, 9:25
PRO splits: 10:50, 10:23, 9:41, 9:25
Wednesday
Did: 4mi @ 10:36/mi avg, Big 3
Two miles solo, two miles run/walk with teammate. This run felt good. Definitely and essential meditative moment to start another stressful day of adulting at the office.

Thursday
Did: 1WU, 8x400/400, 1CD= 6.36mi @ 9:58/mi avg, Big 5
Oof. This warm-up hill is really becoming quite the beast. It was always tough to start out on, but add six months of pregnancy and the return of humidity, and it’s definitely a challenge. I think we averaged a 12min/mi for our warm-up... and that wasn’t with ANY walking.![]() |
| weee, speedwork HR/pace graphs! |
Fortunately, the actual workout went MUCH better. All splits remained under 8min/mi, with one 6:45/mi repeat thrown in for good measure and confidence-building. Weeeeee.
Bonus: knee did not hurt at all going downhill for the cool down.
Friday
Did: 5.25mi @ 10:32/mi avg, Big 5
Pre-dawn solo run across my alma mater (which included a quick stop at the bench where my husband first asked me to be his girlfriend forever ago) = = great start to the day.
Campus running is great. Dike running is also great. What's not so great? The approximately 90 seconds of running around this water treatment plant. There's a path there. It's intended to be traversed by pedestrians, but, man is it like a creep-tastic scene from CSI sometimes...

Saturday
Did: 3.11mi @ 9:55/mi avg, Big 5
Treadmill run this morning due to dead flashlight batteries. Felt good.

Total Weekly Mileage: 30.61
Week-ending Thoughts:
- Uh... I don't even know, man. I'm grateful to be 25w pregnant and still feel like everything physically is more or less "normal", because the rest of my life is still up in the air and crazy.
