Last Week of 2020

 Week-beginning Thoughts:

So, according to my scale, I've literally gained 15 pounds in the past month and a half, and I have no f-ing clue how. While I've been over my calorie target a handful of days, it's only been by a couple hundred calories.... nowhere NEAR the amount of overeating that I'd need to actually gain this sort of weight. Looks like a call to my doctor is in my future.... Sigh. 

Also, probably going to go easy on the running this week with this Achilles thing going on....


Monday
Did: LIIFT4 Back/Biceps
No HIIT workout today, just lifting. 


Tuesday
Did: LIIFT4 Chest/Triceps
Opted out of running with friends this morning to let my ankle rest a bit more, and did chest/triceps lifting. 


Wednesday
Did: LIIFT4 Shoulders, 2.0mi @ 8:50/mi avg
It feels like eons since I've run. So bizarre... 

Did a short "test run" today after a few days off for my Achilles. If I thought about it, I felt something, but only if I thought about it. We'll see how tomorrow's run goes... 



Thursday
Did: 12.31mi @ 9:31/mi avg
On Christmas, some running friends did 12.25 (for 12/25). My training partner suggested we take a page from their book and do 12.31 for 12/31/2020. We started at 4:20am and enjoyed a really pleasant ~2hrs together in a loop-type route.

Sidenote: the pair that provided our origination inspiration ran 20.20 for 2020 that day :P 


Friday
Did: 45min upper body sculpt (yoga)
Today was just a really bad day for me. Stress, hormones, incredibly irritable... and not running probably didn't help. It took me an hour and a half to get through this yoga session, but it happened... and wasn't relaxing at all. Ugh. 


Saturday
Did: 5.12mi @ 9:15/mi avg, 30min Total Body Sculpt (yoga), 3.16mi stroller walk, 4.01mi stroller run/walk @ 10:41/mi avg
Got up early for a run with my teammate, did some yoga, took the little one for a stroller walk through the neighborhood, and finished with a run/walk at the river while the older one and my husband rode bikes (I'd planned on riding with the bike trailer, but the pathways were too crowded due to nice weather). Today felt better, physically and mentally.

Sunday
Did: 10min yoga, 3.28mi stroller run @ 9:36/mi avg
Well, we planned on a famliy greenway morning, but it was a bit more flooded than expected... so my tempo run was cut a bit short, and involved lots of back-and-forth over the same inundated section of trail. Weeeee. 

Tempo was 7:42/mi avg, which is pretty great for having done about 12 miles yesterday, and pushing a stroller through some 3-4in deep puddles. I'm pleased.  

This photo doesn't do the greenway justice... but it was literally washed out with over 6" at this point
(which was more than I was willing to ford with the stroller) 





Total Weekly Mileage: 26.9


Week-ending Thoughts:
  • I've kept my diet in check this week from a quality standpoint. Still frustrated with all that mess, though. Hoping for some good answers soon... 
  • I had thought about starting a new miler method cycle come Jan 4, but I'm not in a good mental spot for it yet. Instead, I'm going to try a new Beachbody program called Muscle Burns Fat in conjunction with my normal running for a few weeks.
