This run felt like it should've had a much faster pace than what it did, but oh well. Wednesday Did: 4.64mi @ 10:06/mi avg This was the WETTEST run I've had in awhile. Bright side: I think I finally found the ideal weather to wear a running rain jacket in: 51degrees, hard rain, light wind. Thursday Did: 9.02mi @ 9:07/mi avg, LIIFT4 Week 5 Shoulders When my training partner sent the workout, it was: 2mi/5min recovery 4x1mi/3min recovery We've always had 1-2mi warm-ups, so that's what I thought the 2mi she mentioned was. Nope. That was AFTER the warm-up. I found out after we'd done 1.2mi when she mentioned "getting started". I replied that I'd probably take the 4x1mi and turn them into a pair of 2x2mi since I was doing a slower than mile pace pace. It was then that my training partner noted the first part of the workout was a 2mi stint. Oh. I struggled to keep an 8:30 on the first 2mi, and told myself as long as I was under a 9, I was good. 2mi: 8:35, 8:19 i Instead of the 5min recovery, I walked 100m and jogged 300m. 2mi: 8:26, 8:26 After that, I decided I didn't want to do another 2mi, and would prefer to do a ladder-down, trying to hit faster paces each time. The mile was harder than an 8:18 should have been, but I really felt good on the 400 thru 100m. 1mi: 8:18 800m: 3:52 (7:44/mi) 400m: 1:45 (7:00/mi) 200m: 0:47 (6:16/mi) 100m: 0:19.5 (5:20/mi) This workout felt SO good at the end. While my 2mi bits were a struggle, the ladder felt really good. I've missed track workouts. Friday Did: 3.11mi @ 10:42/mi avg, LIFT 4 Week 5- Legs I don't actually think I was this slow, but who knows with greenway GPS. Ran solo this morning at sunrise on the greenway, and it was so nice to see all the wildlife: owls, hawks, and deer! Saturday Did: 10.68mi @ 9:57/mi avg . Sunday Did: nada Laid dead in bed sick... Total Weekly Mileage: 33.8 Week-ending Thoughts: Well, so much for staying healthy for a week. Heh. |
