Week-beginning Thoughts:
Thinking about signing up for a marathon... Maybe the Donna in Jacksonville this February?
Monday
Did: rest
Tuesday
Did: 6.3mi @ 9:19/mi avg
Life stress turned this into a bit of a progression run, from 10+ min/mi to 8:15.
Wednesday
Did: 3.22mi @ 9:49/mi avg, LIIFT4 Week 8 HIIT
Fit in a short run along the greenway between kid drop off and a doctor's appointment, then got the last LIIFT4 workout in field-side at kiddo's soccer practice.
Thursday
Did: 4x800m/400m = 5.71mi @ 8:31/mi avg
I didn't know what I was going to do today. In fact, last night, I felt so "off" that I wasn't even sure I'd show up FOR speedwork. During the warm-up, I thought I might start off with an easy 4x400. I'd thought about planning my training plan yesterday, but it didn't happen. I did get to the point where I decided I'm going to see if I like half training before launching into a marathon. After all, next year we're trying to plan a family Disney vacation, I have various BOD meetings for my professional org across the country, and chorus is going to ramp up since it's an International contest year.
My teammates were doing mile repeats. I thought about that, but realized I couldn't really fit in more than 2 due to time constraints, and our extended (1.75mi) warm-up. Instead, I opted for 800s-- a bit more in line with a half marathon goal than (4)-400m repeats.
I didn't look at my watch at all during the laps, and was SO stoked by my splits-- all well below my hope of an 8min/mi pace, and IDENTICAL.
3:30.3
3:30.0
3:30.9
3:30.4
Yassssssssssssss. What a win for the day.
Friday
Did: 4.01mi @ 9:23/mi avg
Felt a bit sluggish today, but got out anyways. Couldn't waste this weather.
Saturday
Did: 10.26mi @ 10:04/mi avg
TP was out this morning, so I had to go solo. Originally, I'd wanted to do a half marathon today, but just didn't have the mental interest in getting it done solo. More than "running solo", I've had a hard time lately feeling safe when I'm on the roads alone. I let myself sleep and wake up without an alarm, hit the roads at 6am, and had a great route with multiple police officers on patrol. My pace was definitely slow, but that's what a long run should be, right?
Sunday
Did: 4.11mi @ 9:30/mi avg with stroller
Total Weekly Mileage: 33.6
