Week-beginning Thoughts:
I'm in a MUCH better mental state than I was two weeks ago for race week.
Monday
Scheduled: 3-5mi easy or rest
Did: 5.09mi @ 9:35/mi avg
Got up early and started my week off right today. Good thing, too, because I came back to a pretty chaotic day. Kept my nutrition in check, though. Victory!
Tuesday
Scheduled: 10KT, easy
Did: 6.32mi @ 9:35/mi avg
Nice run with friends. Glad today was easy and didn't have strides. Kept my nutrition in check today, too.
Wednesday
Scheduled: 2-3mi easy or rest
Did: 10min yoga, 1mi walk
Yoga in morning, 1mi walk with kiddo in the evening.
Thursday
Scheduled: 2mi WU, MILE TRIAL, 2mi CD
Did: Mile Trial = 6.33mi total @ 9:37/mi avg,4mi walk
Hell yes.
Friday
Scheduled: rest
Did: 2mi of walking
Walked for an afternoon coffee with a coworker, and then another bit around the neighborhood with the fam in the evening. Definitely didn't have to fight the urge to run today with all the work madness.
Saturday
Scheduled: 8mi long run
Did: 45min HIIT/yoga, 8.00mi stroller run @ 9:31/mi avg
Got up early and wanted to do SOMEthing, so I did a 45min "half and half" workout, with 20min of cardio followed by 20min of yoga.
...it wasn't enough to keep my sanity throughout a stressful day, though, so I took the stroller out for a run in the afternoon. I wasn't sure what I wanted to run, but ended up doing the 8 on the schedule. The first bit was nice, but I was feeling it by the end. Afterwards, my legs were spent, which is a huge change from the last mile trial I did, where I didn't feel much.
Sunday
Scheduled: family run
Did: 3.11mi @ 9:23/mi avg with double stroller, few miles of double stroller walking
I woke up this morning not even sure I wanted to run at all, but definitely wanted to get outside and move. Took the kids to the river with a hot coffee, planning on walking a bit, but ended up with a 5K run followed by walk. Felt good.
Total Weekly Mileage: 28.9
Week-ending Thoughts:
- Don't really have any... probably going to take an easy week and then regroup for the 10x10 or maybe some focused tempo training for Peachtree
