Week-beginning Thoughts:
I have no idea what's going to happen this week. :P
Monday
Did: nothing
Whoa. I actually literally did nothing today. That's... a first in a really long time. Had lots of work to do, and baby has a double ear infection, so..... yeah.
Tuesday
Did: 10KTuesday @ 8:59/mi avg
Got my second COVID vaccine last night, and opted to sleep in in case I had any side effects. Let my body sleep until 7am, and then felt good so I went for a walk... and ended up running (it was just too perfect not to). Ran a lot faster than usual (rest day? delayed start?), and then ended up feeling the fever side effects mid-day and being down for the count.
Wednesday
Did: 4mi walk, 3.26mi @ 8:14/mi avg (!!!)
Felt human again midday and went for a walk with my husband, worked, and then wanted to run in the evening. It was pretty warm out, but I just felt like I wanted to get out there. My first mile was an 8:47 (!!!), which is a LOT faster than any of my normal runs, but I wasn't pushing. My second mile was an 8:02 (kind of pushed). At that point, I kind of felt like turning this into a progression run, and so I pushed the last mile (7:40). Weeeeeeeee.
Thursday
Did: 4.01mi @ 9:25/mi avg with double stroller
Another afternoon run. Took my kids out to the greenway for a chill four miles. Ended up seeing TWO snakes, including my first copperhead, on the path tonight. Eek.
Friday
Did: 2mi walk at lunch
Got up at 3:19am (thanks, cats) and got a ton of stuff ton, but didn't workout. Made up for it with a lunch walk.
Saturday
Did: 12.25mi @ 9:12/mi avg, 1mi "hike" with family, 4.25mi walk
Enjoyed some "joyful miles" with my training partner (whom I haven't seen in OVER A WEEK-- crazy!) as she began her marathon training base-building, did a "hike" (really a walk through the woods at a nature preserve), and then walked to my parents' place/back with a stop off for ice cream. Pretty solid day.
so strange to still be running at sunrise...
Sunday
Did: 6.25mi total with double @ 9:11/mi avg
Ran with the double today for some seriously joyful miles. With nothing on my schedule, I just ran for the joy of running... and added in a couple bonus tempo mile repeats because I wanted to: 8:01 and 7:51
Total Weekly Mileage: 32.0
Week-ending Thoughts:
- took this week to "recover"... now I guess I'm recovered and need to get back to the strength training routine too...
