(not my) Marathon Training: Week 17/18

Week-beginning Thoughts:

  • I'm grateful I can still run, and that my balance isn't compromised by my SSHL (and more info)
  • If you run a marathon and don't really tell anyone about it, did it even happen?

Monday
Scheduled: Rest
Did:  Rest

Tuesday
Scheduled: 2 miles WU 5 x 1k at 10K pace with 2 min rest between sets 5 x 200m at 5K pace with 30 sec rest between sets 2 miles CD
Did: eaaaaaaaaaasy 6.52 @ 10:39/mi avg
Oof. Hellllo, legs. Had some rough twinges in my left quad to start, but those worked out over the easy track miles.

Wednesday
Scheduled: 3-5 miles easy
Did: 4.01mi @ 10:48/mi avg
Grateful for running, some semblance of normalcy, and a training partner who doubles as a therapist.

Thursday
Scheduled: 3-5 miles easy
Did: 4.06mi @ 10:25/mi avg
Another tough night of restless sleep before MRI day. Grateful for running.

Friday
Scheduled: 2 miles WU 2 x (4 miles at HMP + 1 mile easy) 2 miles CD
Did: 5.75mi @ 10:03/mi avg
Met my TP for the back half of her run. It's been kind of nice to "take it easy" this week... though I'm ready to get my legs back and be able to comfortably run faster than a 10min pace soon... Still struggling with sleep... and deafness... but grateful for what I've got.

Saturday
Scheduled: 3-5mi easy
Did: 5.07mi @ 9:50/mi avg, lots of sweaty walking
Took my littlest for a drizzly run at the river, and ended up running into a teammate I haven't gotten to run with for awhile. SO nice to have unexpected company :)

Sunday
Scheduled: 8-11 miles easy
Did: 8.36mi @ 9:49/mi avg, 2mi zoo walk
Enjoyed a wonderful last run with my training partner before she heads off for the Berlin Marathon next week, and a long walk through the zoo with my family.

Total Weekly Mileage: 33.8

Week-ending Thoughts:
  • Grateful to be able to run through life.
