Week-beginning Thoughts:
Work is really getting in the way of everything else I want to do lately :P I'd really love to take some time off and spend my days making meals for the family, lifting, running, going to Toddler Time classes with my kids, etc.
Monday
Planned: nada
Did: nada
Did: nada
Took the day off intentionally. Calves are sore. Had family over for dinner. Baby ended up with a fever and I was up most of the night... weeee, life.
Tuesday
Planned: 2mi WU, 8x1min hard/2min recovery, CD to 10K
Did: as scheduled = 6.46mi @ 9:11/mi avg
Did: as scheduled = 6.46mi @ 9:11/mi avg
So. Tired. Good thing I've learned that sleeping in never feels as good as I think it's going to and got up for 10KTuesday anyways. My training partner's got us on a new "plan", whose only goal at the moment is just to keep mileage (sanity) up for the rest of the year. I thought about bailing out of the "workout", but the idea of only having to do eight one-minute bursts was quite palatable.
Paces:
7:01, 7:00, 7:28, 7:09, 7:23, 7:33, 7:35, 6:44
7:01, 7:00, 7:28, 7:09, 7:23, 7:33, 7:35, 6:44
Also did a short lunch walk, just to clear my head a bit.
Wednesday
Planned: easy 5mi
Did: rest
Did: rest
Took today off due to late night at chorus + sick baby the night before. Mmmm, sleep :)
Thursday
Planned: 5mi easy
Did: 5.04mi @ 9:26/mi avg
Did: 5.04mi @ 9:26/mi avg
Drizzly and a bit windy, but pleasant.
Friday
Planned: 1mi WU, 3xmile @ 10M pace/2min jog, CD to 6mi total
Did: as scheduled = 6.23mi @ 8:49/mi avg
Did: as scheduled = 6.23mi @ 8:49/mi avg
I was dressed, putting my shoes on, and about to head to my car when I got a message from my training partner letting me know she couldn't make it this morning. The first thought in my head was, "Oh, good! I can go back to sleep".
...but then I thought about it a bit. It was 4:26am. I could go back to sleep, but I'd probably struggle to fall asleep until about 5, and then someone would surely start making noise around 5:30, and then I'd go through the rest of my day cranky that I hadn't run. Better to get up and get it done solo.
7:51, 7:26, 7:56
Yasssssss
Saturday
Plannedd: 12 easy
Did: 12.12mi @ 9:36/mi avg
Loved everything about this run.
Sunday
Scheduled: 5mi + strides
Planned: nothing
Did: a few miles of trick or treat walking, 3.39 @ 9:35/mi avg w/stroller
I could've gotten up early and run, but I planned all week to make Sunday morning a family morning. If I got up and wanted to run early, I would. If not, I'd fit it in later in the day if it made sense... or just not.
Got a quick stroller run in between the neighborhood Halloween party and trick-or-treating.
Total Weekly Mileage: 33.2
Week-ending Thoughts:
Feeling like a bit of a slacker this days. I guess it's good that a 30mi week still feels like "I did nothing"?
