Week-Beginning Thoughts:
In Chicago all week for a structural engineering event. Here we GOOOOOOOOO
Monday
Did: 4.09mi @ 8:53/mi avg
After yesterday's attempt at finding a way to greenway failed, I opted for some residential neighborhood running near the hotel. That was definitely the way to go, and check out that pace. Hooray cool temps and flat routes.
Tuesday
Scheduled: 10KTuesday
Did: 6.47mi @ 8:48/mi avg plus 1.5mi walking
I did NOT want to do neighborhood running for this one, so I took a shuttle to the nearest L station, bought a pass ($10), took the train downtown (an hour), and ran around my favorite Chicago routes that I've run SO many times and just love.
Had a bit of "dead butt syndrome" and struggled the back half of the run, but still had a great time.

Wednesday
Did: 4.03mi @ 9:15/mi avg plus 15min lifting/PT
Woke up kinda tired with a stuffy right nostril, but enjoyed neighborhood running. Worried I might be getting sick since I had a headache and neck ache most of the day...
Thursday
Did: 3.25mi @ 9:16/mi avg, plus 15min lifting/PT
Wasn't sure if I should run this morning or not, since I woke up with the left nostril stuffy and a bit of a "full head/tired body" kinda feeling. Opted to get out and move and then walk if I wanted to. The run felt good, but I definitely think I'm coming down with something. Glad to be coming home today.
Friday
Did: nada
Negative COVID test, no fever, but definitely having a lot of body aches and head aches.
Saturday
Did: 3.27mi @ 9:55/mi avg with stroller
Woke up a bit tired, but decided it might just be that I need to go move and opted for a stroller run with my littlest. That didn't last. I could tell it wasn't the right call within about a mile. I was able to function most of the rest of the day, including an hour in the pool with my kiddos in the afternoon, but got hit by a hard headache and body aches in the evening.
Sunday
Did: nada, rested all day
At least it's not COVID? Second negative test today.
Total Weekly Mileage: 21.1
Week-ending Thoughts:
Hopefully this illness is short-lived...
