6 Weeks 'til Peachtree

Week-Beginning Thoughts:

This is a stressful week with a lot of life-stuff: last week of school (and all the associated things parents need to be at/do), kid's first sports tryouts (multiple evenings in a row, too), and trying to get things set for summer vacation.

Monday
Scheduled: walk or MBF
Did: 2mi treadmill @ 9:37/mi avg
Stressful day trying to fit in a kid's end-of-year class party in the middle of the work day, then leave early for soccer tryouts. Got a few miles on the treadmill, though.

Tuesday
Scheduled: 10KTuesday
Did: 6.3mi @ 8:57/mi avg
The crew dubbed this a "rage run" with how stressed I am this week for various reasons, and that was 100% accurate. I really leaned into the feeling of pushing myself pace-wise and being able to hit some "solid miles". No arch pain/soreness during.

Wednesday
Scheduled: 10mi easy
Did: 4mi with 4x400 = 4.37mi @ 9:36/mi avg, PT
I woke up not wanting to do this run, but, every Wednesday, I wake up tired from a late Tuesday at chorus and don't want to run. Then, by the time I've dropped kiddo off at school, I'm lamenting not putting on my run clothes so I can swing by the greenway.

Today, I told myself just to put my clothes on, and that I could decide what I actually wanted after school drop-off.

I went to the greenway.

It's been so long, though, since I used the workout feature on my watch, I forgot to set it up properly. It beeped after my 1mi warm-up, went through 2 intervals of 0.25mi on / 3min recovery nicely... and then went to the CD since I didn't change the default number of intervals. Rather than start/stop my watch, I just manually watched to hit the 3rd and 4th intervals. Everything felt gooooood.

It was hard, but it was so nice to feel that challenge again, where I didn't want to do it, but knew I physically could

GPS splits:
1:50
1:57
1:54
1:54

Thursday
Scheduled: 5mi easy
Did: 6.18+4 = 10.18mi @ 9:39/mi avg
With upcoming travel, I didn't want the stress of having to fit in a double-digit run this weekend, so I decided to stress myself out by doing it today, on the last day of school.

I met my TP for our usual 4:45am start, but we added a mile today so I would have less than half the mileage remaining to do solo. My right arch was definitely sore today, but I enjoyed the mileage and felt strong/healthy. Bonus: my last mile was just a little over a 9min pace.

Friday
Planned: nada
Did: 2mi walk
Life was busy today.

Saturday
Scheduled: idk
Did: 6.04mi @ 9:24/mi avg
Fun stroller run on a pancake flat route.

Sunday
Scheduled: -
Did: 5.04mi @ 9:09/mi avg
We're on a "Beach Vacation", but the weather sucks. In the middle of a nor'easter with drizzle and 20mph winds. Bright side: this was the first time I've ever felt the wind at my back pushing me faster?

Total Weekly Mileage: 33.9

Week-ending Thoughts:
Proud of making what I make happen happen.
