Precursors: Injury Onset, PT #1
Stretching is helping me manage the problem, but it's not fixing it. I didn't really feel like my original care team for this injury was the right one for me, so I sought out recommendations from some other runner friends and wound up at Georgia Sports Physical Therapy. Oddly enough, when I showed up for my appointment today, one of the #10KTuesday runners (whom I hadn't spoken to about PT recs) was also there for her own appointment with the practice. Small world!
My new PT, Brittany, was awesome. I felt like she really did a more thorough assessment, and felt more confident in her than my previous PT. She identified a bit of an "upswing" (misalignment) in my pelvis, corrected it with a small chiropractic-ish adjustment, and then also identified some specific muscle tightness that was probably playing into my hip issues. I've got a plan for releasing those muscles, keeping the pelvis aligned, and am feeling much better about things.
