Board Meetings Week

Week-Beginning Thoughts:

I'm both scared and excited for this week. I'm traveling up to DC for my first structural engineering national board meeting, and then going straight to Clemson for another board meeting. It'll be the most travel and being around people I've done since before the pandemic...

Monday
Scheduled: easy 4mi
Did: 2mi with stroller @ 10:01/mi avg
I had grand plans of a nice run with my littlest after work today, but ended up spending an HOUR in traffic. I really thought about cutting the run completely, but opted to ask what the kiddo wanted. All in, we still schlepped to the greenway and did a much-abbreviated run. It was PERFECT weather and I'm grateful for moments like this with my babies.

Tuesday
Scheduled: 10KTuesday
Did: 4.06mi @ 9:43/mi avg plus ~5mi walking
I cut 10KT short to have extra time to get ready for my morning flight and with my family, but made up for it in lots of walking around the airport and DC upon arrival.

Wednesday
Scheduled: 5K on the National Mall
Did: 5.32mi @ 9:17/mi avg
Perfect weather + incredible route = much faster than usual run. So glad I was able to get up and enjoy where I'm at before sitting in meetings from 8am-9pm.

Thursday
Scheduled: 10,000 steps of airport walking, maaaaybe 30min lifting at hotel?
Did: 10,000 steps of walking throughout the day
This was harder than I thought, but if you acknowledge that I had 2hrs sitting for a flight, 2.5hrs sitting in a car, 4hrs sitting in a board meeting, and another 1.5hrs sitting for a board dinner, I suppose I did alright. Meeting went long and killed any chance of 30min lifting, so I wrapped up my steps, and headed to bed early to prep for tomorrow's run.

Friday
Scheduled: 30min in the hotel gym or maybe a run around the dikes
Did: 5.09mi @ 9:33/mi avg
Wonderful run around campus.

Saturday
Scheduled: short run
Did: 4.16mi @ 9:40/mi avg, 1.2mi walking
Slept in and had some time with the family this morning-- so nice! Walked a bit over a mile to get pizza after the kids' first musical-- definitely didn't make me feel great after all this healthier eating.

Sunday
Scheduled: long run of 8-10mi
Did: 10.19mi @ 9:39/mi avg
Great morning at the river with my TP :D

Total Weekly Mileage: 30.8

Week-ending Thoughts:
  • Finally, a solid month of health. Especially with all the travel, I'm grateful for this being a non-stressful time for me.
  • I've lost about ten pounds since starting Noom a month and a half ago. Probably not a coincidence that I'm sleeping better, feeling better, and running faster. :D Really proud of this work I've put in.
